program that is designed and conducted to achieve high standards of reliability <br /> appropriate to a modern emergency and non-emergency BLS ambulance service by <br /> utilizing appropriately trained personnel knowledgeable in the maintenance and repair <br /> of ambulances, developing and implementing standardized maintenance practices, and <br /> incorporating an automated maintenance program record keeping system. <br /> 6.7 Vehicle Markings and Advertising Restrictions <br /> All advertising and markings on ambulance units shall emphasize the "9-1-1" <br /> emergency telephone number. The advertising of other telephone numbers for any <br /> type of emergency service is not permitted. <br /> 6.8 [Not Used] <br /> 6.9 Bariatric Response Unit <br /> The Contractor shall provide a Bariatric Response Unit that meets the standards <br /> identified in 6.1 above and is suitable for transporting patients identified to be of greater <br /> weight than is suitable for the normal fleet of ambulances. The minimum equipment <br /> inventory to be stored in it shall be the same as every BLS ambulance maintained by <br /> the contractor with the addition of a power lift type stretcher rated to lift patients up to <br /> 1000 pounds. The Bariatric Response Unit will also carry a portable transfer device <br /> such as a "bariatric board" or bariatric transfer sheet, as well as any other lift-assist or <br /> ergonomic aids suitable for safely moving bariatric patients. <br /> 6.10 Vehicle Collision Reporting <br /> The Contractor shall report monthly all vehicle collisions involving Contractor's vehicles. <br /> 7.0 Contractor's Personnel <br /> 7.1 Staffing <br /> Each ambulance unit responding to requests for BLS service shall have at least two <br /> personnel who are certified and accredited as Basic Life Support Emergency Medical <br /> Technicians, as defined in RCW 18.73 and WAC 246-976 as now or hereafter <br /> amended. <br /> 7.2 Driver Training and Area Knowledge <br /> Prior to driving any ambulance pursuant to this Contract, the Contractor's ambulance <br /> operators must successfully complete an Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course. <br /> Additionally each driver shall have knowledge of the geographic area of the City of <br /> Everett and the ability to read maps prior to driving any ambulance units. <br /> 7.3 Safety Program <br /> 10 of 34 <br />
