Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Friday, May 16, 2014 9:13 AM
To: Donald Cunningham
Cc: Tony Lee;Jeff Heilman
Subject: RE:Code violations?
Hi Don,
I think your compilation is excellent.
I have a brief summary of my observations and code violations to offer based on the inspection that was conducted on
5/12/2014.
1.The living room is being used for sleeping purposes.Section 404.4.1 of the IPMC requires every dwelling unit to have
a living room of at least 120 square feet in size,"separate from rooms used for sleeping purposes".
The use of the living room for use as a room for sleeping purposes in this building is a violation of section 404.4.1 of
the IPMC.
2. Required smoke alarms were observed to be missing in various locations throughout the building. This condition is a
violation of section 704.2 of the IPMC.
3. It was observed that the rear porch, walkway and stairs that serve this building are in a deteriorated and unsound
condition. This is a violation of section 305.4 of the IPMC.
These conditions are code violations. This building is currently Unlawful as defined by section 108.1.4 of the IPMC.
I hope you find my comments of use.
Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in your investigation of this matter.
Ted Budden
From: Donald Cunningham
Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2014 1:49 PM
To:Ted Budden
Cc: Tony Lee
Subject: Code violations?
Ted-Tony-
I have attached my notes, sketch and some photos of our inspection yesterday.
Please advise what code violations exist and what issues are present that, from a Building Department point of view,
may not be consistent with a Single Family use of the structure.
Thanks!
Don
Donald Cunningham
Code Enforcement Officer
Everett Police Department
Desk 425 257-8564
dcunningham@everettwa.gov
1
