July 20, 2016 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., July 20, 2016, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br /> Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Murphy presiding. Upon roll <br /> call, it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Murphy, <br /> Franklin, Bader, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. Council Member <br /> Roberts was expected to be late. Council Member Moore was excused. <br /> Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 13, 2016, City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson commented on the Public Safety Innovations forum <br /> held Tuesday that focused on mental health and helping to curb the opioid <br /> epidemic. He thanked Police Chief Templeman on his leadership and the <br /> Police Department for their hard work. He announced that a video created <br /> to highlight the Safe Streets Plan will be published online Thursday, and <br /> thanked the Community Streets Initiative Coordinator, Julie Frauenholtz, <br /> for her effort on this project. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Bader reported on his attendance at the Public Safety <br /> Innovations forum and the efforts in providing balance in the community to <br /> help those who seek treatment. <br /> Council Member Tuohy, who attended the Public Safety Innovations <br /> forum, noted how other cities are reevaluating how to do business in order <br /> to help provide services and how Everett can do this also. <br /> Council Member Franklin reiterated the positive comments from the Public <br /> Safety Innovations forum and thanked those involved including the Mayor, <br /> Police Chief Templeman and Hil Kaman. She expressed the important <br /> partnership with Snohomish County in these efforts. She reminded <br /> 233 <br />
