Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Tuesday, December 10, 2013 1:34 PM
To: Spring Wathen
Cc: Kevin Fagerstrom; Jeff Heilman; Tony Lee
Subject: 2201 Lombard Ave.
Hi Spring,
I need your assistance with a problem property. Here is the story.
On 9/17/2013 1 posted a stop work order on this house for construction work being performed without required
permits. The work included electrical, plumbing, mechanical and general construction work.
On 11/18/2013 an electrical permit was issued for rewiring the house.
On 12/05/2013 an electrical inspection was requested. Upon visiting the site, electrical inspector Mike Bearda
discovered that all of the electrical work had been covered (wallboard) in addition to the covered electrical work, the
plumbing system and mechanical systems had been covered along with any framing work that requires inspection prior
to cover.
To date, the balance of the required permits have not been applied for or issued.
All of the work that is now concealed was covered after the stop work order was posted.
Please initiate enforcement action on this property as soon as your schedule allows. The violations are R113.1 Unlawful
acts. 2012 IRC and R114.2 Unlawful continuance. 2012 IRC.Two separate violations.
We have good photos of the conditions prior to the drywall installation.
As a footnote to this story, Inspector Bearda discovered during his inspection visit on 12/05/2013, an extremely
hazardous electrical condition within the attached accessory structure at this property. The hazard was so dangerous
that we requested that the PUD disconnect the power to this structure immediately. (which has been done)The balance
of this dilapidated structure may have additional code concerns.
Thank you for your efforts.
Ted Budden
1
