#111111:dwi: <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2661-02 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing current rates for sewer service and surface <br /> water management for the City of Everett and repealing Ordinance No. <br /> 2189-96 and amending Ordinance No. 2190-96 and Ordinance No. 2366-99 <br /> (EMC 14.04.020). <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council finds that increased sewer service and <br /> surface water charges are necessary to meet NPDES permit requirements as ordered by <br /> the Department of Ecology, continue to aggressively maintain sewer and surface water <br /> infrastructure, and expand system capacity, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the charges herein are reasonable. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, The Everett City Council does ordain: <br /> Section 1: The City of Everett City Council finds that it is necessary and conducive to <br /> the protection of the public health, safety, welfare and convenience of the citizens of the <br /> City of Everett to collect charges from all users who contribute wastewater to the City's <br /> sewer collection and treatment system. The proceeds of such charges so derived are to be <br /> used for the purpose of operating, maintaining and improving, including debt service the <br /> City's sewer system and surface water and drainage systems. <br /> Effective January 1, 2003, and thereafter, service charges for the City of Everett sewer <br /> system are hereby fixed as follows: <br /> A. Single family residence: $28.15 per month <br /> (The monthly charge includes Surface Water Quality Protection and <br /> Enhancement and the current state utility tax.) <br /> B. For other than single family residence (multiple family residence, <br /> commercial, and industrial users, etc.) the rate shall be computed in <br /> accordance with the following formula: <br /> Sewer service charge per month = $3.128 per 100 cubic feet of metered water <br /> consumption <br /> (The monthly charge includes Surface Water Quality Protection and <br /> Enhancement and the current state utility tax.) <br />
