Apri127, 2005
To: Roy Harris, Supervisor and Larry Cram — Public Works
3200 Cedar Street, Everett WA 98204
From: "Lee" LeIslea Brooks
2310 23rd Street
Everett, WA 98201
Subject: Obstruction Letter that was placed on my door knob (4/25/OS)-enclosed copy
of your flyer and attached paper---
Thi ' am it-ig to Public orks instead in calling because I and my
husb d Dale Chartier has calle four times in the past year or so, to have
the tree cleaned up fro orms r — to have the TREE BE CUT DOWN.
And in the flyer you say, " The Public Works Department encourages...needs
to be maintained, trimmed, and managed...." And the letter goes on to say that
the Tree (on city property) that there is a vertical clearance, etc. And the back
side on the yellow side with Lany Cram's name on it says, " Tree neds io be
trimmed over roadway."
Each and every time that I call into Public Works about the city tree I keep getting
the same response, "you have to maintain it not us" ...."we just plant them and
you maintain them". ...I stated my case but again the same response. Then my
husband called in twice in the last 3 months to have the tree be cut down. And
the person on the other end of the line said, "okay, sure, we will put this down and
have someone come out and cut it down." - I believe that the person on the phone
was telling my husband a falsehood to get him off of the phone. And now we
receive the two flyers.
Why do we want the tree to be cut down? First off, my husband has a failed
Fusion in his neck and doing tree cutting is out of the question; AND we paid
good hard earned money (on a fixed income) to clean the tree of bugs, insects,
which Public Works would not come out and clean out....the bugs were on
my car, inside the grass and coming around on the sidewalk....I spent money
to debug the tree — my first time and my last time in doing so. In addition, the
tree has some san and foliae items dronpin onto mv car and I am not happy
with this at all. PLEASE CUT THE TREE DOWN ON 2310 23d Street.
I hope that this time you will listen to us and please proceed to cut the Tree DOWN.
 /

"Lee" Brooks (Dale K. Chartier) Homeowners
425/252/5211
cc: Ray Stephanson, Mayor
