May 7, 2014 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., May 7, 2014 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Council <br /> Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Gipson, Bader, Stonecipher, and <br /> Anderson were present. Mayor Stephanson was excused. <br /> Council President Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 23, 2014 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. Council Member Stonecipher abstained from the vote. <br /> The minutes of the April 30, 2014 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Murphy stated that he requested quotes from the city's <br /> insurance broker for long-term care insurance for retirees. He remarked <br /> that the numbers provided to date have been high. He announced that <br /> two community meetings will be held to discuss options for balancing the <br /> city's budget; one on May 8, 2014, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Evergreen Middle <br /> School, and the other on May 13, 2014, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Wilderness <br /> Auditorium, Jackson Conference Center, Everett Community College. <br /> Council Member Roberts acknowledged the death of Tribal Activist Billie <br /> Frank Jr., and expressed that he was an amazing leader and will be <br /> missed. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> The City Attorney had no comments. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> No citizens wished to speak. <br /> 119 <br />
