The purpose of the
examination was to determine the hazard rating of the subject tree and suggest r+emedial
action if appmpriate.
The tree was examined on April 20, 2005 by Tom Hanson.
Tree detail is attached on the `Tree hazard Evaluation Forrn".
The subjeck tree is about 30 years in age with a single trunk. It is in good condition with
normal crown and no indications of bole or root disease. The tree leans slightly over
Glenwood Avenue.
The tree is growing above and immediately adjacent to a rodc retaining wall that separates
the sidewalk and the residence. The nature of cottonwoods is that they grow rapidly and
have aggressive root systems. Those root systems are known to heave sidewalks and push
into or through retaining walls.
With the evidence of a lean and the proximiry to the retaining wall, it is my opinion that this
tree is a progressing hazard.
It is my recmmendation that this tree be removed.
There is no warrar►ty suggestd for any of the irees subjet to this report. Weather, latent
tre conditions, and futur man-caused activities could cause physiologic changes and
deterioratfng tree condition. Over time, deteriorating tre conditiorts may appear and ther
may be eonditions, which are not now visible which, cou/d cause te filu. This ieport or
the vea/ cpmmertts made at the site in no way varrant the structural stability or long term
condition of any tree, but reprsent my opinion based on the obsenrations mde.
Nearly all trees in any conditivn standing withn ►ach of improverrierts or human use a►as
reprsent hazards that could /ead to damage or injury.
Please call if I can be of further assistance.
Sincety,

i '6m/as . anson ISA
Certified Arbanst
(425) 820-3420 • Fa (425) 820-3437 • vvw.inforestry.com
