July 22, 2005
Roy Harris, Streets Supervisor
Streets Department
City of Everett
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
Dear Roy Ref: Dover Street Trees near Mukilteo Blvd.
.' ,'
 ?! !» 2Q'S
OPERATIOCVS &
MAINTENANCE
At the July 21, 2005 City Tree Committee Meeting, I appreciated your input
concerning the request to remove the three, large Poplar trees in the Dover
Street right-of-way.
Poplar Tree Study Report Related to Safe
You mentioned that a horticulturalist said the three Poplar trees are `healthy".
Could you please have this horticulturalist document this study and send me a
copy of this document.
I question their age and stability. I, now, have a lot that will have a house built
directly under these three old Poplar trees on Dover Street and I am very
concerned about the safety of the people that will be living in this house. The
value of this house will be between $700,000 and $800,000. The owner of the
lot at 1802 Mukilteo Blvd. will have the same concerns and a valuable house in
danger of being damaged by these huge trees next to the house.
Senior Citizens in Neiqhborhood Concerned About Trees
I sent you a letter about two weeks ago explaining that thought that Dover was
too dangerous to drive on near the Poplar trees, but were afraid to mait in a tree
removal form because they might be billed a portion of the cost to remove the
trees and they don't have the extra money. You never returned my request for a
response in my self-addressed, stamped return envelope. They live a block away
from the trees on Bailey Street. Could you please reply?
