TECHNICAL NOTES <br /> Explanation of methods and/or definitions <br /> Leading causes of death:The top 10 causes of death are the 10 causes of death that account for the <br /> largest number of deaths in Snohomish County in 2014. <br /> Birth rate:The birth rate is the total number of live births per 1,000 persons in 2014 for the SHRA. <br /> Infant mortality rate:The infant mortality rate is the number of deaths in infants less than one year of age <br /> divided by the number of live births in 2014 for the SHRA. <br /> Premature birth: A premature birth is one that takes place before the start of the 37th week of pregnancy. <br /> Normally, a pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks. <br /> Low birthweight babies: Low birthweight babies are those weighing less than 2,500 grams at birth; and <br /> very low birthweight babies are those weighing less than 1,500 grams at birth.The percentages of low <br /> birthweight and very low birthweight are out of all live births. <br /> High birthweight babies: High birthweight babies are those weighing more than 4,000 grams at birth;and <br /> very high birthweight babies are those weighing more than 4,500 grams at birth.The percentages of high <br /> birthweight and very high birthweight are out of all live births. <br /> LIMITATIONS . <br /> This report only contains data on a select set of health indicators.
