The tested assemblies for the shaft enclosure should in addition to the minimum fire resistance required ALSO be shown to meet the meet the minimum STC rating of 50 on the drawings. Please clearly indicate on the architectural drawings if there is a mechanical ventilation opening between the smoking lounge and the vestibule, as was shown on previous submittals. 2. The exit discharge for the building should be clarified in the code analysis. The drawings appear to indicate new work at one or more of the lobby doors, but it is not identified graphically on the plans as dark lines. The requirement for fire-resistance of walls and doors is dependent on the application of the code section, as to whether it meets one of the two exceptions for exit discharge at the lobby and vestibule.
