The intent of this provision is to improve the pedestrian <br /> environment by making it easier, safer, and more comfortable to walk on street <br /> sidewalks,to transit stops, between businesses and residences, and through parking areas; <br /> provide pedestrian facilities such as sidewalks, crosswalks, and bus shelters connecting to <br /> all modes of transportation; provide convenient pedestrian circulation connecting all on- <br /> site activities to adjacent pedestrian routes and streets; connect neighborhoods severed by <br /> major arterials; and provide access to transit and services. <br /> a. Provide pedestrian access onto the site from all streets on which the use is located. <br /> Where a use fronts two streets,pedestrian access shall be provided from both streets, <br /> unless the City determines such access is not feasible. <br /> b. For developments with multiple buildings,provide for pedestrian circulation between <br /> all buildings. <br /> c. New developments inside the MUO shall provide for the opportunity for future <br /> pedestrian connections to adjacent properties (inside and adjacent to the E-1 zone) <br /> through the use of pathway stub-outs,building configuration, and/or parking area <br /> layout. The City may require that pedestrian access be provided between adjacent <br /> lots or two different streets where it determines that such a requirement is within the <br /> public interest and would not cause security problems or disadvantage the intended <br /> use.
