The intent of this provision is to ensure that buildings and businesses <br /> are safe, inviting, and accessible and encourage pedestrian activity. <br /> 1. The principal building entrances (i.e., the building entrance used by commercial <br /> customers, residents, or visitors) of all buildings shall feature the following <br /> improvements: <br /> a. Pedestrian Weather Protection. In addition to weather protection along pedestrian- <br /> oriented facades in Section 31B.080.D.1, provide pedestrian weather protection at <br /> least 5 feet deep over all primary building entries for individual business and <br /> individual residences. This may include a recessed entry, canopy, porch, marquee, or <br /> building overhang.
