All required submittals must be of sufficient detail and information
to ensure that the proposed structure will be constructed in compliance with all adopted codes.
Please submit two sets of revised plans and details with a response letter to each item in this letter, indicating
how it is resolved on the plan set. If preferable, these revisions can be sent by e-mail.
General
1. Please revise the worksheet for compliance with RCW 64.55 form so that on/y rehabilitative
construction is included. This form should not include information in the conversion to condominium
section, which is the fourth option, unless that is the intent.
2. The drawings should be clear in identifying new work versus existing. Notes and a legend of line types
is preferable to communicate this information. A typical graphic standard is light lines for existing and
dark lines for new.
3. Please do not include existing building drawings for work that has already been built and permitted,
except as reference in the typical roof ceiling sections only.
Construction
1. Please communicate on the typical roof ceiling sections that the existing roof is being removed to the
sheathing, if that is the intent.
a. The weight of the new roofing should be shown on the typical roof-ceiling sections.
b. Based on our conversation today, three typical roof ceiling sections are the cathedral ceiling,
truss, and flat roof.
2. Please identify the scope of the new roofing by circling a roof plan or the attached aerial of the building
to indicate that the whole roof will be replaced.
3. The venting required for new work in the roof ceiling secfons should be shown in section on the
drawings, per IBC section 1203.2.
