Plans for such system shall be submitfied to the Fire Code Officiaf for review and approva[ <br />prior fio installation. Submittal shall inciude cut sheets of alf equipment intended for use. <br />Appropriate trip tests, witnessed by a Fire �epartment lnspector, shall be performed, <br />along with a certificate of complefion, prior to final acceptance of the system. <br />Fire alarm systems shall be installed according to NFPA Chapter 72. Installation of fire <br />alarm componenis, including basic wiring, may not commence before plans �re <br />approved by ihe Fire Department Plan Reviewer. Fire alarm drawings must be <br />professionally rendered, in sufficient detail, and must be internally consistent. Riser <br />diagrams must match installation plans and laad calculations. Components must be listed <br />and approved for use together. Changes to plans must include new drawings and <br />cafculations and must be approved by the Fire Department I'lan Reviewer prior to <br />installation. Fire alarm installation is subject to field inspection by a Fire Department <br />Inspector. An appraved set of plans and the Engineering & Public Services Department <br />electrical permit must be present for any installation inspection. <br />Fire alarm sysfems shall be installed under permif of the City of Everett Engineering & <br />PubEic Services Department. Electrical inspectians and approval are required priar to <br />calling for acceptance tests. Call (425} 257-8810 for permit information. <br />The absence of working phone lines for the alarm system will be cause for <br />postponing Fire Department inspection a�d test[ng and shall re�ulfi in denial of <br />occupancy. <br />A copy of NFI'A 72 Record of Completion form must be filled oufi prior to final occupancy <br />(NFPA 72, 2007 Edition, page 72-33). <br />Call for design requirements per Authority Having Jurisdiction. <br />Automatic smoke detection is required. <br />13. Fire Suppression LSprinkler) System - An approved automatic suppression system shall be <br />provided as required by City Ordinance No. 3021-07, Chapter 16.76, of th� Everett <br />Municipal Code. The system must incfude a rnechanical vuater gong be61. <br />Plans for any such system shall be submi#ted to the Engineering & Pulolic Services <br />Department for examination and approval. Such plans shall include plans for ihe <br />underground mains that will supply the sprinkler sysfem. <br />The #ype of sprinkler to be installed will be determined by the Building Official. It may be an <br />NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, or NFPA 13D system depending upon several factors. Sprinkler <br />installation shall nof begin without an appraved and stamped set of plans from the <br />Engineering � P'ublic Services Department. The Fire Deparfinent will also review the <br />pfans and shall field inspect the installation based only on approved plans that must be on <br />site. Changes to plans must be approved by both the Engineering & Public Services and <br />Fire Departments. <br />Aboveground sprinkler piping shall be hydrostatically tested as established in NFPA <br />Standard 13. Underground piping shall be hydrostatically tested and flushed as <br />established in NFPA Standard 24 for private fire mains. {Below-qround piping must be <br />
