The use needs to be established so we know what plan reviewer will review it (commercial or residential)
and know the legal use of the structure to note on the permit. Also, we would need it for the variance hearing if he
wants to try to keep the stairs in the same location if they cannot be grandfathered in through the NCU/NCB.
-Teresa
From: Spring Wathen
Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2015 3:02 PM
To: Teresa Weldon
Subject: RE: 1924 Oakes Ave
Thanks Teresa O
There is an exterior stairway on the south end of the structure to access the 2nd story. Does the
certification of a NCB need to be established before a permit can be issued for the exterior stairway built
w/o permits?
From: Teresa Weldon
Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2015 11:45 AM
To: Spring Wathen
Subject: 1924 Oakes Ave
Hi Spring,
I spoke with the owner at 1924 Oakes Ave regarding the violations on his property at the counter today. I directed him
towards making an application for a Nonconforming Building Certification first (since he says this is a 4-plex and it is in
an R-2 zone). I have not done any research on the property as to the legal use of the building.
From there we would figure out his next steps.
Teresa Weldon
Associate Planner
City of Everett Planning Department
Direct: 425.257.7281
Permit Services: 4)_5.257.8810
