A smoke alarm was not provided in the sleeping room as required by section 704.2 of the IPMC.
2. A carbon monoxide detector was not installed in the dwelling.
3. The window located in the sleeping room of the unit does not meet the current code requirements for a sleeping
room. See section 702.4 of the IPMC.
4. Some Electrical Equipment observed within the dwelling does not meet the minimum code standards for installation.
(Electrical panel location, use of extension cords for permanent wiring etc.) See Section 605.1 IPMC
The Building is an Unlawful Structure as defined by section 108.1.5 of the IPMC.
The owner has decided to abate the code violations by obtaining a permit to remove the violating elements and
returning the structure to approved use as an unoccupied accessory structure. (Storage Building)
We have issued a permit to allow the owner to conduct the work to pursue compliance. (Permit # CW1506-003)
A separate electrical permit will be required along with any necessary alterations to return the electrical system to an
approved state.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide assistance in this matter
Ted Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Division
