<br /> The unit price for gravel borrow shall include all costs of furnishing, hauling, stockpiling,
<br /> placing, grading and compacting the material in place.
<br /> The unit price for this bid item includes all costs for removing, loading and disposing of
<br /> displaced unsuitable material, including haul.
<br /> Bid Item 17 - Temporary Pavement Patch I
<br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Square Yard (SY)
<br /> One measurement for Temporary Pavement Patch shall be by the square yard placed
<br /> within the limits of dimensions defined in the Work, descriptions for other bid items, shown
<br /> on the Plans, or COE Standard Drawings, or as otherwise approved by the Engineer.
<br /> The unit price per square yard based on sawcut neatlines for temporary pavement patch
<br /> using either cold mix asphalt (MC250), HMA CL 1/2" PG 64-22, or heavy duty steel plates
<br /> shall be full compensation for all labor, material, tools and equipment, Work necessary to
<br /> satisfactorily complete the Work as defined in the Standard Specifications, 5-06.3(6) of
<br /> these Special Provisions and as shown on the Plans.
<br /> The unit price for this bid item shall include all labor, hauling, compaction, HMA ramping of
<br /> steel plates, materials, tools and equipment to furnish, place, compact and roll to conform
<br /> to adjacent surfaces. Also specifically included in the unit price for this bid item are costs to
<br /> maintain the temporary patch in such a manner to prevent traffic hazards until the
<br /> permanent pavement surface, either HMA or Cement Concrete, has been installed and to
<br /> remove and dispose of the temporary patch immediately prior to placing either the
<br /> permanent HMA or Cement Concrete surface.
<br /> Bid Item 18 - Ductile Iron Pipe For Water Main, 8-Inch Diam.
<br /> Bid Item 19 - Ductile Iron Pipe For Water Main, 12-Inch Diam. I
<br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot (LF)
<br /> Per linear foot pipe measurement shall be based on the slope distance from point to point.
<br /> The point of beginning or ending of measurement in any particular run of pipe shall be the
<br /> vertical intersection of the centerline of the pipe measured with the centerline of the
<br /> intersection pipe, or with the beginning or ending of any new linear length of valves or
<br /> couplings contained within the measured length. At changes in pipe size connected by a
<br /> reducer, the point of measurement shall be taken as the midpoint of the reducer.
<br /> The unit contract price for Ductile Iron Pipe For Water Main, -Inch Diam., shall constitute
<br /> full compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and
<br /> install the pipe, restrained joints (where shown on the Plans or as required by the Standard
<br /> Specifications and Special Provisions), and all fittings, including tees, crosses, reducers,
<br /> couplings, and sleeves required for complete installation along the run of each pipe size, as
<br /> shown on the Plans and specified herein, and additionally, shall include, but not be limited
<br /> to, the following:
<br /> 1. Removal of structures or obstructions not specifically covered under other Bid Items.
<br /> This shall include, but not be limited to, removal and disposal of the existing asphalt
<br /> concrete pavement, sidewalk, curb, thrust blocks, miscellaneous landscaping, and sod
<br /> as indicated on the Plans.
<br /> 2. All required potholing to verify locations of water service crossings and existing utilities.
<br /> The costs for pot-holing and excavation required to determine exact depths and
<br /> locations of other utilities shall be included with this Work with no direct compensation
<br /> made. I
