1 <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 5-06.3(5) Untreated Roadway Surfaces <br /> Existing crushed rock, gravel, and oil mat streets shall be restored with Crushed <br /> Surfacing Top Course to a compacted depth of four inches within the neat lines of the <br /> trench. Crushed surfacing shall be mixed, placed, spread and shaped in accordance <br /> with the requirements of Section 4-04 of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 5-06.3(6) Temporary Pavement Patching <br /> The Contractor shall furnish, place and maintain temporary pavement patching, at <br /> locations as directed by the Engineer, until such time as a permanent patch of <br /> permanent paving can be made. In areas requiring cement concrete base, this will <br /> require removing temporary patching to place the cement concrete base, then <br /> reinstalling temporary pavement patching until the final asphalt patch can be brought <br /> up to within 1.5 inches of final surface. This is to be considered as a single temporary <br /> patch for measurement and payment purposes. <br /> Temporary pavement patch shall consist of a four inch thick course of either: cold mix <br /> asphalt (MC 250) or hot mix asphalt (HMA CL 1/2", PG 64-22) as approved by the <br /> Engineer, over a three inch course of Crushed Surfacing Top Course. The crushed <br /> surfacing top course shall be compacted to 95-percent maximum density as <br /> determined by Section 2-03.3(14)D. Asphalt shall be compacted to 90-percent of <br /> maximum density as determined by WSDOT Test Method 705. <br /> Temporary asphalt patching shall be required where roadway or walk is needed for <br /> vehicular or pedestrian traffic, during the construction period, until permanent <br /> pavement and sidewalks can be constructed. <br /> In the event that the temporary surface subsides after the initial placement, additional <br /> MC 250 or HMA (as approved by the Engineer) and crushed surfacing shall be applied <br /> as necessary to maintain the surface. <br /> Stockpile of plant mix and crushed surfacing for temporary patching shall be provided <br /> on the site by the Contractor. <br /> Prior to final restoration of the pavement, the Contractor shall be responsible for <br /> removing and disposing of temporary pavement patching materials. <br /> At Contractor's option, provide steel sheets over trench patches until final trench patch <br /> is brought up to within 1.5 inches of final surface. <br /> 5-06.3(7) Incidental Pavement Patching <br /> Incidental pavement patching shall be done only at the direction of the Engineer for <br /> patching and restoring areas between the back of new sidewalks and adjacent asphalt <br /> driveways, paving ramps at the ends of sidewalks, and gutters that are adjusted to <br /> grade. <br /> Asphalt for incidental pavement patching shall be HMA CL 1/2", PG 64-22. <br /> 5-06.4 Measurement <br /> Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br /> described in Division B - Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section 1- <br /> I 09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 5-06.5 Payment <br /> Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be as <br /> ' described in Division B - Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section 1- <br /> 09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> Water Main Replacement Q Division 5-SURFACE TREATMENTS July 8, 2016 <br /> -Broadway AND PAVEMENTS <br /> WO No.-UP3612 SP -145 <br />
