CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> DIVISION 7 — DRAINAGE STRUCTURES, STORM SEWERS, SANITARY SEWERS, <br /> ' WATER MAINS, AND CONDUITS <br /> 7-08 GENERAL PIPE INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> ' 7-08.1 Description <br /> Further supplement 7-08.1 as follows: <br /> 7-08.1(1) Submittals <br /> 1 (******) <br /> Provide Type 2 Working Drawings for all materials and Standard Plans. <br /> Provide Type 3E Working Drawings for dewatering plans, if any. <br /> 7-08.2 Materials <br /> Delete material items listed in 7-08.2 and substitute the following: <br /> Provide materials meeting the following requirements: <br /> Controlled Density Fill 2-09.3(1)E Special Provisions <br /> Sand Backfill for Pipe Zone 9-02.22 Special Provisions <br /> ' Crushed Surfacing Base Course 9-03.9(3) <br /> 9-03.14(1) Standard Specifications <br /> Gravel Borrow Standard Specifications <br /> Foundation Material Class A or B 9-03.17 Standard Specifications <br /> ' 7-08.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 7-08.3(1) Excavation and Preparation of Trench <br /> 7-08.3(1)A Trenches <br /> Revise the second paragraph in 7-08.3(1)A and to read as follows: <br /> Excavate trench in accordance with COE Standard Drawing No 610, unless <br /> ' otherwise noted on the Plans. <br /> Delete the second sentence in the third paragraph in 7-08.3(1)A and substitute the <br /> following: <br /> Contractor may excavate above the top of the pipe zone only as wide as <br /> necessary to meet OSHA requirements. <br /> 7-08.3(1)C Bedding the Pipe <br /> Delete the second and third paragraphs in 7-08.3(1)0 and substitute the following: <br /> Provide pipe zone bedding in accordance with COE Standard Drawing 611 <br /> and 615. unless otherwise noted on the Plans. <br /> If the Engineer determines the material existing in the trench bottom is <br /> satisfactory for bedding the pipe, then the bedding material specified in the <br /> COE Standard Drawing 611 is not required, provided the existing material is <br /> loosened, regraded, and compacted to form a dense, unyielding base. <br /> Supplement 7-08.3(1) by adding the following: <br /> 1 7-08.3(1)D Trench Dewatering <br /> (******) <br /> This section specifies the definition, responsibilities and execution for dewatering <br /> 1 associated with trench excavation for pipes, manholes, catch basins, cleanouts, <br /> side sewers and other buried utility work. Implement trench dewatering measures <br /> where necessary or directed by the Engineer.
