1.2 Proposed Construction Activities
Description of site development (example: subdivision):
The proposed development consists of a 115,000 square foot (ft^2) Static Test Building and
improvements in support of the testing operations.
Description of construction activities (example: site preparation, demolition, excavation):
Construction activities will include removal of an existing spoil pile, demolition of existing
lighting, utilities, and parking lot, excavation, grading, poured concrete footings, slabs, retaining
walls, aprons and asphalt pavement.
Description of site drainage including flow from and onto adjacent properties. Must be consistent
with Site Map in Appendix A:
The site consists of parking lot, spoil pile and two ponds, with drainage ditches that run to the
ponds. Water from the parking lot exits the site in two locatons. Half the water from the parking
lot discharges out of the NW corner of the site through 12" storm pipe while the second half
discharges into the south west pond. There is a pond and ditch at the north east corner of the
site where water then discharges into Boeing Lake.
Description of final stabilization (example: extent of revegetation, paving, landscaping):
The final stabilization will consist of concrete aprons around the building with asphalt paving
outside the concrete aprons. There will be now vegetation once the project is complete.
Contaminated Site Information:
Proposed activities regarding contaminated soils or groundwater (example: on-site treatment
system, authorized sanitary sewer discharge):
Due to the contamination of the existing soils, all stormwater and indidental groundwater will be
treated on site through a chitosan enhanced sand filtration (CESF) treatment system in
accordance with the Administrative Order by Washington State Department of Ecology.
Page 16
