The Boeing Everett Environmental Health and Safety Process Instruction (EHSPI)-130, which
defines the procedures and responsibility, accountability, and authority (RAA's) for complying
with the Construction Stormwater General Permit, is included in Appendix B.
2.1 The 12 Elements
2.1.1 Element 1 : Preserve Vegetation / Mark Clearing Limits
Describe the methods (signs, fences, etc,) you will use to protect those areas that should not be
disturbed.
Describe natural features identified and how each will be protected during construction. Trees
that are to be preserved, as well as all sensitive areas and their buffers, shall be clearly
delineated, both in the field and on the plans.
Describe how natural vegetation and native topsoil will be preserved.
List and describe BMPs:
To protect adjacent roads and the parking lot, enhance public safety and to reduce the area of
soil exposed to construction, the limits of the site will be fenced in. Marking serves to limit
construction traffic and to control track out. The jurisdictional ditch that cannot be touched at
this time will be fenced around with a silt fence and a 5' wide berm will be placed along the
south and west sides of the ditch to keep water and silt from entering the pond. The pond at the
south west corner off the site will get a silt fence to keep silt from discharging the site into the
storm line. The BMPs relevant to marking the clearing limits that will be applied for this project
include
• High Visibility Plastic or Metal Fence (BMP C103)
• Silt Fence (BMP C233)
Installation Schedules:
The site perimeter fence and silt fence will be the first activity to take place approximately from
May 22nd 2015 — May 291h 2015.
Inspection and Maintenance plan:
The construction fence will be maintained around the perimeter of the site. Water filled barriers
will be used because they can be moved at any time as the project progresses. This fence
prevents pedestrian access to the site from the south, east, and west faces. The silt fence will
be inspected, maintained, and repaired as needed to make sure it is working properly and has
not been damaged. BMP's will also be checked within 24 hours of a rain event.
Responsible Staff:
Steve Roetemeyer with MiclMountain Contractors will be the onsite CESCL to maintain.
Page 18
