In general, a <br />complete load path exists to for lateral forces, although this has been interrupted by remodeling efforts. <br />If future remodeling is contemplated for this structure, project elements should include re-establishing <br />and strengthening the load path in the wood framed areas. <br />Potential Upgrades include the following items: <br />• Additional shear walls at the corridar, exterior wall, and in the transverse direction in the <br />one-story wood frame wings, and the 2°d floor of the west wing. Connection to the <br />foundations or platforms will also be needed. <br />• New drag elements (steel straps) may be needed at the roof. <br />• The concrete moment frame columns may need strengthening, but further analysis is <br />recommended to determine the necessity of this costly upgrade. <br />Pnce 3 <br />
