These <br /> comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br /> departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 2003 International <br /> Residential Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code <br /> 2004 Edition, unless stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br /> provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting <br /> he corrections requested. <br /> 1. Provide cross section through deck. Show all components. <br /> 2. Provide interior and exterior stair sections. Show all components including rise and run <br /> handrail requirements, guard construction and minimum headroom. <br /> 3. Detail 1" seismic separation flashing and/or slip joints. Provide detail for each component <br /> including foundation, floor, walls, ceiling and roof structures. <br /> 4. Show compliance with Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) at all envelope <br /> components. <br /> 5. The greatest tread depth within any flight of stairs shall not exceed the smallest by more <br /> than 3/8" (stairs in garage). <br /> 6. Provide smoke alarms in existing structure per R313 IRC. Show requirements on plan. <br /> 7. Openings between the garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors not <br /> less than 1-3/8" in thickness, solid or honeycomb core steel doors not less than 1-3/8" <br /> thick, or 20-minute fire rated doors. <br /> 8.
