Additional revisions or additions may be <br />required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the <br />(2012 International Building Code,) (2012 International Residential Code,) as amended by the <br />State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 2012 Edition, and adopted by the <br />City of Everett, unless stated otherwise. <br />In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br />provide the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the <br />corrections requested. <br />1. Stairways shall not be less than 36" in clear width at all points above the permitted <br />handrail height and below the required headroom height. Handrails shall not project <br />more than 4.5 inches on either side of the stairway and the minimum clear width of the <br />stairway at and below the handrail height, including treads and landings, shall not be <br />less than 31�/2" where a handrail is installed on one side and 27 inches where handrails <br />are provided on both sides.
