It was good to talk with you and follow-up from any misunderstanding that may have <br />occurred when we talked several weeks ago. <br />Under current building codes, a building can't be made less accessible. Since a change of occupancy occurred in the <br />building in 2005, by permit, the International Building Code is the reference code for this project. The only way to <br />remove an elevator is to put in something that would retain the level of accessibility provided by that elevator. There <br />are limited use limited application elevators, LU/LA, that could be used in place of an elevator. Any work beyond <br />changing finish materials requires a building permit. <br />Please submit a permit application for the work to remove an elevator and replace it with a LU/LA or another elevator. <br />Any work done without permit should also be included in this permit, shown as new work. The scope of the permit <br />should be limited to "Restore accessibility of building, including parking".
