July 30, 2014 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., July 30, 2014 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Gipson, <br /> Bader, Stonecipher, and Anderson were present. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 23, 2014 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. Council Members Roberts and Bader abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson reminded everyone that next Tuesday night is National <br /> Night Out Against Crime. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Murphy gave an update regarding the Snohomish Health <br /> District. He stated that the board and staff concluded work on their <br /> strategic plan and that it was approved at the July board meeting. <br /> Council Member Bader reported that he and his family spent the past <br /> three weeks touring the United States and were glad to be home. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that a public hearing was held on the <br /> Sound Transit 3 extension two weeks ago and a retreat will be held <br /> tomorrow. He thanked Mayor Stephanson and Allan Giffen for their <br /> support. He remarked that he had an opportunity to meet with State <br /> Representative Clibborn, Chair of the House Transportation Committee, <br /> and the Governor in regard to transportation issues. <br /> Council Member Anderson reported that he attended the initial meeting of <br /> the Everett Community Streets Initiative Task Force last Thursday. He <br /> remarked that the task force is made up of a broad base of providers and <br /> business owners and that the meeting was well attended. <br /> 207 <br />
