4. Bright roof colors shall be prohibited. <br /> 5. Buildings containing predominantly residential uses shall have pitched roofs with a slope <br /> ranging from 4:12 to 12:12. Such roofs shall have dormers with windows or intersecting <br /> roof forms that break up the mass of a continuous, uninterrupted sloping roof. An <br /> exception to this standard may be approved by the Planning Director for green roofs, <br /> rooftop decks, terraces and open space. <br /> Encouraged Standards <br /> 6. In new single-story structures, architectural forms such as vertically extended walls, <br /> raised corner features or entry lobbies with high ceilings should be used to give the <br /> impression of a second story. <br /> H. Building Design: Massing/Articulation on street frontage(s).
