ORDINANCE NO. 3105 -08 <br /> 1111 14 elrmij.,,7 I I <br /> AN ORDINANCE creating the special construction fund entitled "Everett <br /> Senior Activity Center Expansion", Fund 342, Program 013, authorizing the <br /> design and construction for an expansion of the Senior Activity Center. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to expand and upgrade the City <br /> of Everett Senior Activity Center located at 3025 Lombard Avenue, Everett. The project <br /> consists of 2,736 square feet of new construction and 1 ,700 square feet of remodel <br /> construction. The project will include upgrades to the kitchen with a larger pantry area <br /> and space for additional refrigerators and freezers. An elevator will be added to allow <br /> ADA access from the garage to the second floor of the facility; and <br /> WHEREAS, the city has secured funding under the state of Washington Department of <br /> Community, Trade, and Economic Development Local and Community Projects <br /> Program Capital Contract Number 08-96105-026 in the amount, not to exceed, <br /> $395,000; and <br /> WHEREAS, the city has secured funding under the U.S. Department of Housing and <br /> Urban Development Special Projects grant, as funded by the Congress in the <br /> Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2008 (PL 110-161) and as described in the <br /> Congressional Record of December 17, 2007. Grant amount awarded under project <br /> No. B-08-SP-WA-0523 is $588,000; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund 342, Program 013 <br /> entitled "Everett Senior Activity Center Expansion" to accumulate the design and <br /> construction costs required for new construction and remodel of the Senior Activity <br /> Center. <br /> Section 2: Authorization is hereby granted to the Facilities/Property Management <br /> Director under the administration of the Mayor, to assume full responsibility for <br /> conducting all tasks and performing all necessary steps to accomplish the actions <br /> authorized by this Ordinance. <br /> Section 3: The estimated cost of the project is $983,000 including, design, construction, <br /> equipment, and contract administration. <br />
