I <br /> 1 Geosynthetics listed in the WSDOT Qualified Products List (QPL) are approved for use. <br /> I <br /> 2 <br /> 3 If the geosynthetics material is not listed inthe current WSDOT QPL, a sample of each <br /> proposed geosynthetic shall be submitted to the State Materials Laboratory in Tumwater <br /> 4 for evaluation. Geosynthetic material approval will be based on conformance to the <br /> 5 applicable properties from the Tables in Section 9-33.2 or in the Standard Plans or <br /> 6 Special Provisions. Approval/Disapproval information will be provided within 30 calendar <br /> 7 days after the sample and required information for each geosynthetic type have been <br /> 8 received at the State Materials Laboratory in Tumwater. <br /> I9 <br /> 10 The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer the following information regarding each <br /> 11 geosynthetic material proposed for use: <br /> I 12 <br /> 13 Manufacturer's name and current address, <br /> 14 Full product name, <br /> I 15 Geosynthetic structure, including fiber/yarn type, <br /> 16 Geosynthetic polymer type(s) (for permanent geosynthetic retaining walls, <br /> 17 reinforced slopes, reinforced embankments, and other geosynthetic reinforcement <br /> I 18 applications), <br /> 19 Geosynthetic roll number(s), <br /> 20 Geosynthetic lot number(s), <br /> 21 Proposed geosynthetic use(s), and <br /> I22 Certified test results for minimum average roll values. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Geosynthetics used as reinforcement in permanent geosynthetic retaining walls, <br /> 1 25 reinforced slopes, reinforced embankments, and other geosynthetic reinforcement <br /> 26 applications require proof of compliance with the National Transportation Product <br /> 27 Evaluation Program (NTPEP) in accordance with WSDOT Standard Practice T 925 or <br /> I 28 AASHTO Standard Practice PP 66, Standard Practice for Determination of Long-Term <br /> 29 Strength for Geosynthetic Reinforcement. <br /> 30 <br /> I 31 9-33.4(3) Acceptance Samples <br /> 32 In the the second row of the table, the value for"Application" is revised to read: <br /> 33 <br /> I 34 Permanent Geosynthetic Reinforced Slopes, Retaining Walls, Reinforced <br /> 35 Embankments, and other Geosynthetic Reinforcement Applications <br /> 36 <br /> I 37 The fourth paragraph is supplemented with the following: <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Test results from 9-33.4(1) Geosynthetic Material Approval testing may be used for <br /> 40 acceptance provided the tested roll(s) are part of the "lot" as defined above. <br /> 1 41 <br /> 42 9-34.AP9 <br /> I 43 Section 9-34, Pavement Marking Material <br /> 44 January 5, 2015 <br /> I 45 9-34.2 Paint <br /> 46 The second paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 47 <br /> I <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Blue and black paint shall comply with the requirements of yellow paint in Section 9- <br /> 34.2(4) and Section 9-34.2(5), with the exception that blue and black paints do not need <br /> 50 to meet the requirements for titanium dioxide, directional reflectance, and contrast ratio. <br /> I <br /> I AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/3/15 <br />
