He also
announced that today was the first "My Mother's Kitchen" cooking class,
which he instructs at the Everett Senior Center, and encouraged other
council members to volunteer in the community.
Council Member Tuohy expressed her thankfulness for being a part of the
Everett City Council and thanked everyone for a warm welcome.
CITY ATTORNEY
City Attorney Iles requested an executive session, anticipated to last no
longer than 15 minutes, following the meeting concerning a legal matter
pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)(c).
CITIZEN COMMENTS
Katie Arnestad, Everett, expressed concerns relating to a pending
marijuana retail business located at 4218 Rucker Avenue, Everett,
Washington.
City Attorney Iles responded to concerns expressed last week about the
close proximity of a Camp Fire facility and potential playground to the
proposed marijuana retail business. After discussions with State officials,
the State made a determination that the Camp Fire facility is not a
recreational facility and the playground does not qualify as a public
playground under state law. The State has issued a license to the
applicant, and the City business license application is currently being
reviewed by staff.
330
