ORDINANCE NO. 3132-09 <br /> 0101,..ma <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 3046-07 entitled " - =ank/Bank <br /> of Everett Shell Improvement Project", Fund 342, Program 012, authorizing <br /> the design and construction of building shell improvements. <br /> WHEREAS, the City owns the building on the corner of California and Wetmore (former <br /> Key Bank/Bank of Everett building) which is currently surplus to the City's needs and <br /> available for lease to private parties; and <br /> WHEREAS, Village Theatre currently manages and operates the Everett Performing <br /> Arts Center adjacent to the former Key Bank/Bank of Everett building. Included in the <br /> programs which Village Theatre offers to the public are youth education programs for <br /> which, with appropriate improvements, said former Key Bank/Bank of Everett building <br /> offers a highly attractive venue; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to make code upgrades and <br /> shell improvements to the former Key Bank/Bank of Everett building before turning the <br /> premises over to Village Theatre; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance 3046-07 was established to fund the design of the building shell <br /> improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, additional funding is necessary to complete the design and construction <br /> the building shell improvements <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund 342, Program 012 <br /> entitled "Key Bank/Bank of Everett Shell Improvement Project" to accumulate the <br /> design and construction costs required to construct code upgrades and shell <br /> improvements. <br /> Section 2: Authorization is hereby granted to the Facilities/Property Management <br /> Director under the administration of the Mayor, to assume full responsibility for <br /> conducting all tasks and performing all necessary steps to accomplish the actions <br /> authorized by this Ordinance. <br />
