2010 <br /> Budget Adjustments <br /> Tally Sheet <br /> Department Code Rev Exp FB <br /> GGA-1 Fire Amendment-DHS Grant E09-181 032A 20,000 <br /> GGA-1 General Fund Amendment-DHS Grant E09-182 002A 20,000 <br /> The Department of Homeland Security(DHS), Office of Grants and Training (OGT) provides <br /> funds to enhance the capability of state and local units of government to prevent, deter, <br /> respond to, and recover from incidents of terrorism through the FFY2008 Homeland Security <br /> Grant program, State Homeland Security Program (SHSP). The original grant of$58,800 is <br /> being used to continue wages for the current City Homeland Security Planner position into 2010 <br /> until depleted. The contract end date of April 30, 2010 has been extended to October 31, 2010. <br /> On December 16, 2009, Amendment B of Contract E09-181 was presented to the Mayor and <br /> City Council and accepted. The City was awarded an additional $20,000 to utilize for the <br /> Emergency Operations Center upgrade. <br /> This budget amendment adds $20,000 to the E09-181 contract award and to the Fire <br /> Department expenditure budget. <br /> BUDGET JOURNAL ENTRY: DEBIT CREDIT <br /> Homeland Security Grant E09-181 -Amendment B 002 3339706718 20,000 <br /> Increase Small Equipment Budget 032 5150001350 20,000 <br /> Department Code Rev Exp FB <br /> GGA-2 Parks Amendment-Solar Powered Compactors 101A 137,900 137,900 <br /> GGA-2 <br /> As a result of the 2009 American Reinvestment& Recovery Act(ARRA), federal funding in the <br /> amount of$137,900 was authorized through an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant <br /> (EECBG) for Everett Parks and Recreation to acquire solar powered trash compactors that will <br /> reduce the frequency required, and therefore the vehicle energy and emissions expended, to <br /> collect trash in park locations. Thirty-five compactors, referred to by the product name <br /> "BigBelly", will be acquired and installed in locations determined by Parks as most beneficial to <br /> achieve energy savings and labor efficiency objectives. In addition, Parks Fund 101, Program <br /> 52 will acquire extra trash bags and a wireless notification system that identifies the fill <br /> percentage of each unit.
