ORDINANCE NO. 3200-10 <br /> AN ORDINANCE creating the special construction fund entitled "Fire <br /> Administration Complex — Seismic Retrofits", Fund 342, Program 018, <br /> authorizing seismic retrofits to the City Fire Administration Complex <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to seismically retrofit the City Fire <br /> Administration Complex located at 2801/2811 Oaks Avenue; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City submitted an application to the DHS-FEMA Pre-Disaster Mitigation <br /> Competitive Grant Program (PDM) entitled, "City of Everett, WA — Seismic Retrofit of <br /> the City Fire Administration Complex at 2801/2811 Oakes" (PDMC-PJ-10-WA-2009- <br /> 010); and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been awarded Federal Funding through the DHS-FEMA Pre- <br /> Disaster Mitigation Competitive Grant Program in the amount of $1,908,222; (DHS- <br /> FEMA award number: EMS-2009-PC-0002, Amend 03); and <br /> WHEREAS, the City agrees to provide a local share of $636,074 as a condition of the <br /> grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the local share will be met by a combination of cash ($496,074 from the <br /> City of Everett Capital Fund 162-2009) and in-kind labor ($140,000 from a combination <br /> of personnel time from City project managers and Fire Department staff); <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund 342, Program 018 <br /> entitled "Fire Administration Complex — Seismic Retrofits" to accumulate the design and <br /> construction costs required to seismically upgrade the City Fire Administration Complex. <br /> Section 2: Authorization is hereby granted to the Facilities/Property Management <br /> Director under the administration of the Mayor, to assume full responsibility for <br /> conducting all tasks and performing all necessary steps to accomplish the actions <br /> authorized by this Ordinance. <br /> Section 3: The estimated cost of the project is $2,544,296 including costs related to <br /> design, construction, project costs and in kind labor. <br /> Section 4: The sum of $2,544,296 is hereby appropriated to Fund 342, Program 018 <br /> "Fire Administration Complex — Seismic Retrofits". <br />
