ORDINANCE NO. 3205-10 <br /> 1-47.1-7/:,a J fr <br /> An Ordinance, Relating to Emergency Medical Service ' -s, am- ding <br /> Ordinance No. 2308-98, as amended. <br /> Whereas, pursuant to RCW 35.27.370(15) and other authority, since 1974 the <br /> City of Everett Fire Department has been providing emergency medical services; <br /> and <br /> Whereas, the Fire Department provides both Basic Life Support ("BLS") and <br /> Advanced Life Support ("ALS") emergency medical services during the transport <br /> of patients; and <br /> Whereas, pursuant to EMC 5.72.210, the Fire Department is authorized to set its <br /> transport service fees at rates that cover the actual costs incurred in providing <br /> the services; and <br /> Whereas, currently, the BLS transport rate is $488.00 per transport plus $15.42 <br /> per mile, and the ALS transport rate is either $694.00 or $800.00 per transport, <br /> depending on the emergency medical services provided, plus $15.42 per mile; <br /> and <br /> Whereas, these rates do not include the cost of medical supplies used to provide <br /> ALS and BLS transport services; and <br /> Whereas, the City Council finds that the transport rates should include the cost <br /> of medical supplies used in an ALS or BLS transport so that the transport rates <br /> more accurately reflect the actual costs of providing ALS and BLS transports; <br /> and <br /> Whereas, the City Council finds that the Fire Chief has the necessary information <br /> to determine the cost for medically necessary supplies, and it is appropriate to <br /> authorize the Fire Chief to set these costs administratively; <br /> NOW THEREFORE THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Ordinance No. 2308-98, as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. <br /> 2792-04, as amended by Section 1 of 3049-07 (EMC 5.72.210) which reads as <br /> follows: <br /> Operation and Funding <br /> 1 <br />
