August 8, 2012 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., August 8, 2012, in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, President Gipson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Hatloe, Gipson, <br /> Burke, Stonecipher, and Affholter were present. <br /> City Attorney Jim Iles led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 1, 2012, City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> OATH — POLICE OFFICER <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member <br /> Burke to concur with the appointment of Michael Sean Barantine as <br /> a new police officer. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Deputy City Clerk administered Officer Barantine's oath of office and <br /> Mayor Stephanson presented him with his badge. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Members Stonecipher, Roberts, and Moore reported that they <br /> enjoyed the National Night Out activities and thanked the neighborhood <br /> leaders and city departments for their involvement. <br /> Council Member Roberts also reported he attended a briefing at the Puget <br /> Sound Clean Air Agency that addressed questions associated with coal <br /> trains.
