Ordinance No. 2826-05 <br /> .b/%c—a- <br /> An Ordinance relating to Parking regulations > <br /> Amending Sections 2, 3, 13 18, 20, 21, 22, 25 and 27 o <br /> Ordinance No. 2180-96 (Chapter 46.28 EMC), <br /> and adding a section. <br /> Whereas, the Everett City Council has been advised that at the present time, <br /> tickets issued for violations of repark provisions in the City's Parking Code are not being <br /> upheld due to failure of the law to specify that reparking is a violation whether or not the <br /> time zone limits are exceeded; and <br /> Whereas, the Everett City Council has been advised that additional clarifications <br /> to the City's parking regulations are necessary to resolve parking issues that arise from <br /> time to time, including commercial vehicles and service parking permits, parking in fire <br /> zones, parking of trailers, campers, motor homes and trucks in residential zones, parking <br /> on City streets for over seventy-two hours, and the means by which parking enforcement <br /> officers identify vehicles for enforcement purposes; and <br /> Whereas, the Everett City Council deems it appropriate to update the City's <br /> parking regulations to provide the necessary clarification; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2180-96, as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance <br /> No. 2691-03 and Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2795-04 (EMC 46.28.020), which reads as <br /> follows: <br /> Definitions. <br /> Unless otherwise provided or unless the context clearly requires a different meaning, the <br /> following terms shall have the meaning given to them herein: <br /> A. "Alley" means a public highway not designed for general travel and used <br /> primarily as a means of access to the rear of residences and business <br /> establishments. <br /> B. "Alley entrance" means that portion of the street which provides access to an <br /> alley through a curb cut or a depression in the constructed curb or, when there is <br /> no constructed curb, that area in front of such alley as is well defined or is <br /> designated by authorized signs or markings. "Alley entrance" shall include an <br /> alley exit for one-way alleys. <br /> C. "Bus" means every motor vehicle designed for carrying more than fifteen <br /> passengers and used for transportation of persons, and every motor vehicle, other <br /> than taxicabs, designed and used for the transportation of persons for <br /> compensation. <br />
