Ordinance No. 2834-05 AN ORDINANCE Relating to Regulation of Vessels,Amending Section . , t) of Ordinance 1246-86, (Everett Municipal Code 12.02.110); and Amending Section 1 (part) of Ordinance 1246-86, as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance 1571-89 (Everett Municipal Code 12.02.170); and Adding a Section. Whereas, the City of Everett Police Department has advised the Everett City Council that changing the penalty for provisions in the Harbor Code relating to age limits on vessel operators and restriction of vessel wake in certain zones would result in more effective enforcement; and Whereas,the City of Everett Police Department has advised the Everett City Council that enacting vessel licensing requirements into the Everett Municipal Code would result in more effective enforcement; and Whereas, the Everett City Council deems it appropriate to change the penalties for vessel operator age requirements and vessel wake zone requirements from misdemeanors to infractions; and Whereas, the Everett City Council deems it appropriate to add a section the Harbor Code that enacts State vessel licensing requirements into the Everett Municipal Code; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Section 1 (part) of Ordinance 1246-86 (Everett Municipal Code 12.02.110), which reads as follows: Vessel Operators—Age restriction. It is unlawful for any motorboat to be operated, or for any person owning or in charge of any motorboat to authorize any motorboat to be operated, by any person under the age of fourteen years unless such person is accompanied by a person who is over the age of fourteen years. be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Vessel Operators—Age restriction—Penalties. A.
