A series af retainig walls had
bee» costructed on tle proprty above a ravine and partially on the property to the west. A landslide
occurrecl on the slope below the walls in late November 2012. We ere retained to evaluate the steep
slope, landslide, and existing walls. We prepared a geotechnical report titled "Geotechnical EnQineering
Evaluation — Packer Propei-ty — Retaining Walls and Steep Evaluation — Everett, Waslington," dated
Mar•ch 1 l, 2013. During that study, we recommended a retaining wall within the ravine in the area oftlie
landslide to stabilize the affected area. We have since prepared a plan review letter for the proposed
retailing wall dated Januaty 1 i, 2014. We now understand that the retaining wall has been changed from
a pin pile wall with pressure-treated lagging and tieback anchors to a concrete wall supported on pin piles
and g►outed tiebacks.
