R <br /> A <br /> x <br /> , <br /> ,IIPI7,-./eamm' <br /> IIP <br /> ORDINANCE No. 2840-05 <br /> An Ordinance relating to the Number of Vehicles which may be Parked within <br /> Residential Neighborhoods, and adding a new Chapter to the Everett Municipal Code, <br /> Title 8. <br /> Whereas, City ordinances regulating the parking of motor vehicles do not presently <br /> restrict the number of motor vehicles that may be parked on property in residential <br /> neighborhoods; and <br /> Whereas, the City Council is aware of a growing number of properties where a public <br /> nuisance is created by the large number of parked motor vehicles; and <br /> Whereas, as a first class City, the City of Everett has the power to enact regulations <br /> necessary for the preservation of public morality, health, peace and good order; and <br /> Whereas, as a first class City, the City of Everett has the power to provide for the <br /> prevention and abatement of nuisances; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Purpose. <br /> The purpose of this ordinance is to restrict the number of motor vehicles that may be <br /> parked on residential property by declaring the parking of motor vehicles in violation of <br /> this ordinance to be a public nuisance. <br /> Section 2: Definitions. <br /> For the purpose of this ordinance, the following terms shall be defined as follows: <br /> 1. "Licensed driver"means a person who has obtained a valid Washington <br /> State driver's license. The only exceptions are those expressly allowed by <br /> RCW 46.20.025, as now or hereinafter enacted, or a new resident to <br /> Washington as defined by RCW 46.20.021, as now or hereinafter enacted. <br /> 1 <br />
