2011 Budget Adjustments Tally Sheet Department Code Rev Exp FB GGA-9 Police Dept Amendment-Bulletproof Vest Partnership 031A 18,785 GGA-9 General Fund Amendment-Bulletproof Vest Partnership 002A 18,785 The Bulletproof Vest Partnership("BVP"), created by the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998, is a U. S. Department of Justice initiative designed to provide a critical resource to state and local law enforcement. FY 2011 BVP funds became available earlier this year for purchase of compliant armored vests ordered on or after April 1,2011. On July 7, 2011,the Everett Police Department applied for funding to cover the maximum of fifty percent of the cost of 50 vests. The total cost of the 50 vests is$37,569.00; therefore,the EPD applied for$18,784.50. That application was approved in full. Council authorized the Mayor to accept this grant award on November 16,2011. Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant 002 3311660031 18,785 Increase Uniform Budget 031 5220000260 18,785 Department Code Rev Exp FB GGA-10 Parks Amendment-Lighting Upgrades 101A 90,714 90,714 GGA-10 As a result of the 2009 American Reinvestment and Recovery Act(ARRA),federal funding in the amount of$79,348 was authorized through an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant(EECBG)from the U.S. Dept.of Energy for Everett Parks and Recreation to upgrade parking lot and pedestrian pole lighting at Kasch, Rotary,Walter E. Hall, and Hauge Homestead Parks. The City also received$11,366 from the Snohomish County PUD Incentives Program for these improvements. The lighting fixtures used are expected to generate$7,395 per year in utility savings and a reduction of 1,300 pounds of CO2 per year.
