March 4, 2015 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., March 4, 2015 in the City Council Chambers of the William E. Moore <br /> Historic City Hall, Council President Bader presiding. Upon roll call it was <br /> found that Council Members Roberts, Murphy, Bader, and Tuohy were <br /> present. Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Moore, Gipson and <br /> Stonecipher were excused. <br /> Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the February 25, 2015 City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that he presented a letter to the <br /> Snohomish County Council on Monday on behalf of the Everett City <br /> Council regarding commercial air service at Paine Field. <br /> Council Member Roberts spoke regarding a proposal he presented to the <br /> Economic Alliance of Snohomish County to look at the economic <br /> prospects for manufacturing and job development in southwest Everett <br /> and Snohomish County in conjunction with the growing markets for <br /> technology associated with energy, agriculture, water and building <br /> materials that the world will need to respond to as a result of climate <br /> change. <br /> Council Member Roberts also stated that as the city looks at the extension <br /> of Sound Transit 3, the Sound Transit Board needs to recognize that not <br /> everyone travels south to work, and that we have a giant job base here in <br /> the city of Everett. <br /> Council Member Tuohy remarked that she is looking forward to attending <br /> the Affordable Housing Breakfast Forum tomorrow, where there will be an <br /> update on the task force for the Streets Initiative and the implementation <br /> plan. <br /> Council Member Murphy reported on his attendance at a meeting of the <br /> Lodging Tax Advisory Committee this morning.
