OP ORDINANCE NO. 3278-12 �'�� An Ordinance Amending the Comprehensive Plan and Rezoning the Property Located At 19th Avenue SE and 120th Street SE, Amending Ordinance No 2021-94, And Ordinance No. 1671-89,As Amended The Firehouse Rezone WHEREAS, the City of Everett adopted a new Comprehensive Plan in August, 1994, in conformance with the Washington State Growth Management Act, and WHEREAS, the Growth Management Act, codified as Chapter 36.70A, allows for comprehensive plans to be amended on an annual basis, and WHEREAS,the City of Everett initiated its 2011-2012 annual comprehensive plan amendment process in July of 2011, which included consideration of Land Use Map amendments and rezone applications initiated by property owners or the City Planning Commission, and WHEREAS, the subject property was at one time in public ownership (Fire District# 1), but has since been purchased by the applicant, a private entity, and WHEREAS,the applicant has requested an amendment of the Comprehensive Plan map designation from 1.6 (Multiple Family) to 4.1 (Neighborhood Business) Exhibit A, and a change in zoning from R-3 (Multiple Family) to B-1 (Neighborhood Business), Exhibit B, and WHEREAS, city staff did meet with the Silver Lake Neighborhood on January 2, 2012 and with the applicant various times to discuss the proposal; and WHEREAS, Planning Commission held a public hearing on the matter on March 6, 2012, at which time the Commission invited public testimony, heard staff's presentation, and considered the various aspects of the proposal before recommending approval of the proposed changes. - 1 -
