e:Nak <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3 2 9 0-1 2 <br /> An Ordinance relating to gifts, creating a new chapter 2.105 in the <br /> Everett Municipal Code, and repealing Ordinance No. 1680-90. <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1680-90, establishing a procedure for <br /> accepting gifts and dedications of property to the City; and <br /> WHEREAS,RCW 35.21.100 requires that the City accept, by ordinance, any money or property <br /> donated, devised, or bequeathed to the City; and <br /> WHEREAS,reworking the current procedures will be beneficial and will establish by ordinance <br /> the requisite requirements for the acceptance of gifts as required by RCW 35.21.100; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Gifts of Real Property. <br /> A new section is hereby added to Chapter 2.105, to read as follows: <br /> Gifts of Real Property <br /> All real property gifts to the City must be accepted or rejected by the City Council. <br /> Section 2. Gifts of Personal Property and Money. <br /> A new section is hereby added to Chapter 2.105,to read as follows: <br /> Gifts of Personal Property, Services, and Money <br /> A. Small Gifts <br /> Department heads are authorized to accept or reject gifts to the City of personal property, <br /> including money, with an estimated value up to ten thousand dollars. The department head will <br /> notify the Mayor, or the Mayor's designee, within a reasonable time of any significant gift that <br /> has been accepted or rejected. <br /> B. Large Gifts <br /> All gifts to the City of personal property, including money, with an estimated value over ten <br /> thousand dollars must be approved by the City Council.
