,IP• 70A1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 6084 <br /> A RESOLUTION declaring the City's intent to accept a Gift of four <br /> Bernie Webber watercolor paintings to be added to the <br /> City's art collection for public display and enjoyment <br /> WHEREAS,Bernie Webber was a lifelong resident and civic leader of Everett; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,his ability to capture the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and tell <br /> the story of Everett's history and culture through his paintings was a gift to the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS,Bernie Webber received numerous awards, among which were the <br /> 1981 Citizen of the Year, 2004 Snohomish County Artist of the Year; 1994 VOA <br /> Humanitarian of the Year, Centennial Citizen, Lions International Medal of Merit Award <br /> and the Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achiever; and <br /> WHEREAS,more than 50 of our city's buildings are graced with Bernie <br /> Webber murals, and paintings he generously donated to fundraising events are displayed <br /> in homes and offices throughout the area; and <br /> WHEREAS, Steve Saunders, former Everett businessman and community <br /> leader, has offered to donate four Bernie Webber watercolor paintings from his personal <br /> collection to the City of Everett for public display and enjoyment. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT <br /> THAT: <br /> Mayor Ray Stephanson and Everett City Council members express their <br /> appreciation to Mr. Steve Saunders and gratefully accept the gift of art. <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this26th day of ovember 2008. <br /> R.
