T6e new '
overhead door is to be added on the notth side of the building between grid lines D and E,in panel 31,38'-6"
east of the northwest building comer. The construction drawings indicate that an overhead door was
anticipated at t6is lceation as called on the panel elevation detailing the reinforcing steel for pane131.
It is my opiniun that this overhead door may be cut without any remedial structural work, provided that
the comers of the door are not over-cut and the door is cut to the size and location indicated on the original `
construction drawings. It may be prudent to x-ray or locate the existing reinforcing steel by some other
means prior to cutting. If it is necessary to cut the existing vertical steel or if the existing vertical steel is
accidentally cut during the installation of the door, then veRical strong-backs will be required to provide
adequate shuctural suppoR.
Additionally, the exisdng 12'-0"by 14'-0"overhead door opening on the south side of the building
between grid lines D and E is to be in-filled with concrece masonry units. Attached is a detail for the in-fill
construction.
Please review this information and contact me if you have any questions or require additional
infortnation.
Sincerely,

. o

Jo J.
