SHUTIf- `
CONSI?i,i ING
_ ENGINEERS,INC. Zw3 eel.rtea Rosa,suiu ioo,Bellevue,WA 98005•(423)450.4075•FAX(/25)450-1076
Uctober24,2002
Mr. Spencer Mays
Delta Properties
19900 144`"Avenue NE
Woodinville,Washington 98072
Re: Delta Business Park
Building"A"
Everett, Washington
Dear Spencer,
Pwsuant to your request, I have reviewed the construction documents prepared by Rupert Engineering,
Inc. for the addition of a man door. The construction documents aze dated December 1993 wit6 a revision
date of 3/4/94 for revision delta I titled "REVISION PER OWNER". The new man door is to be added on
the east side of the building between grid lines ! and 2, in panel 25,25'-0"south of the northeast comer of
the buiiding. The consWction drawings indicate that a man door was anticipated at this location as called
for on the floor plan and the panel elevation detailing the reinforcing steel for pane125.
It is my opinion that this man door may be cut without any remedial struchual work, provided that the
corners of the door aze not overcut and the door is cut to the size and location indicated on the original
construction drawings. The opening is shown to be 3'-0"wide, so cutting a rough openiag of 3'-4"may be
too wide to avoid cutting the existing trim steel. It may be prudent to x-ray or locate the existing rcinforcing
steel by some other means prior to cuttin¢. If it is necessary to cut the existing veRical seeel or if the existiag
vertical steel is accidentally cut during the mstallation of the door, then veRicai strong-backs will be required
to provide adequate structal support.
Please review this information and contact me if you have any questions or require additional
information.
Sincerely,
  ' . s
- ,
, ,
  / ,' t. ,Q A8 I
 ``' ./ia p c H ca.
Joseph J.
