We found that the electrical system to the building has been significantly altered without permits or inspections.
The system is iri such bad condition that we declared it dangerous and have required immediate condemnation and
evacuation of the structure. All terants of the building have been notified to include the landlord who inhabits the unit
with the tenants. The attorney of the landlord was also on site and Mr. Fagerstrom informed him of the situation.
Based on the 'dangerous' declaration and immediacy of the danger noted by our electrical inspector and code
enforcement officer, I contacted PUD to have power shut off. PUD will be able to secure the power by COB today.
The next step for energization of the system by PUD is for the owner to secure an electrical permit to make safe the
electrical system. PUD will then reconnect the power once we have approved the service.
There may be other hazards/violations within the structure — this action is based on the dangerous electrical system.
Other permits/inspections may be necessary as well.
Thanks, Tony
