, • <br /> ,Illid7....A1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5978 <br /> A RESOLUTION establishing Prohibited Areas related to marketplaces of drug and <br /> prostitution trafficking. <br /> WHEREAS,on December 19, 2007 the Council enacted Ordinances related to <br /> Violations of Court Orders and Stay Out of Areas of Prostitution Orders; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Ordinances become effective on January 9, 2008; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Ordinances require that Stay Out of Drug Areas ("SODA") and Stay <br /> Out of Areas of Prostitution("SOAP")orders set forth Prohibited Areas that have been <br /> established by a resolution of the City Council, at a minimum of every two years; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Ordinances require that the establishment of the Prohibited Areas be <br /> supported by information from the Police Department in the form of one or more <br /> declarations and/or other sworn testimony; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council has reviewed declarations of Captain Bill Deckard, <br /> Lieutenant Dan Templeman and Officer Dan Rabelos, and/or has heard other sworn <br /> testimony; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1) That the City Council adopts the attached recommendations for Prohibited Areas <br /> related to areas of drug and prostitution traaffic ' g. <br /> fi. <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this ` day of J. i • , 2008. <br /> /� /lr/0 <br /> Cou cilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> / <br /> / ./Ii I A I <br /> Council Presi.
