E ERETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5 9 7 2 <br /> A RESOLUTION establishing a Cost Benefit Policy for the City of Everett Parks and <br /> Recreation Department. <br /> WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department's Strategic Plan adopted by City <br /> Council on March 21, 2007 recommends an overall departmental cost recovery goal of <br /> 35% for all programs and services based on direct and indirect costs; and <br /> • WHEREAS,the current (2007) cost recovery is approximately 18%; and <br /> WHEREAS, adoption of a cost benefit policy will guide the Parks and Recreation <br /> Department in its efforts to achieve a 35%cost recovery; and <br /> WHEREAS,multiple strategies will be employed to help achieve a 35% cost recovery <br /> such as sponsorships,partnerships, donations, grants,program fees, and operational <br /> efficiencies; and <br /> WHEREAS,there is also a policy need to provide a framework for recreation program <br /> pricing based on community benefits, individual benefits and program costs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Parks Board of Commissioners, after reviewing community <br /> input submitted from five public forums and other venues recommended that City <br /> Council adopt the accompanying cost benefit policy: <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1) That City Council adopts the attached City of Everett Parks and Recreation Cost <br /> Benefit policy. <br /> 1, <br /> Council Person I traducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 19th day of December ,2007. <br /> C;�ncil Presi,ent. <br />
